The photographs last longer than the makeup. What shows up in them is skin you started working on in good time, not a facial booked in a panic the day before. Here is exactly what to book, and when.
The skin, in the months beforehand
We look after the part of your wedding that takes time to get right: facials, threading, waxing, face bleach and henna hair colour, worked through the three months before the day.
For the morning itself you will want a makeup artist and a hair stylist. We do not offer day-of makeup, bridal hair, mehndi or nails, and it is better to know that now than three weeks out.
The split works in your favour
The single biggest thing you can do for your wedding photographs is turn up with skin that has been looked after for three months, and brows that were shaped by someone who knows your face. That is the part we are good at, and it is the part your makeup artist will quietly thank you for, because good skin is far easier to work on than a clever base.
What to book, and when
Work backwards from your date. The timings are not arbitrary: each one is set by how skin and hair actually behave.
Three months out
First facial, and start a monthly rhythm. Skin renews on roughly a four week cycle, so three facials a month apart is what actually changes it. Start your threading cycle now too, and if you have never waxed, have your first one now so the growth cycles have time to fall into step.
Six weeks out
Second facial. This is the last sensible moment to try anything new. If you have been curious about the hydra facial or a face bleach, do it now while there is still time to change course.
Four weeks out
Third facial, and decide your brow shape. From here on we maintain the shape rather than change it. A reshape needs two to three weeks of growth to work with, and you do not want to be discovering a new arch in the final fortnight.
Two weeks out
Stop shaving anything you plan to have waxed. Wax needs about 5mm to grip, so this is the deadline rather than a suggestion. Nothing else needs booking this week.
One week out
Final facial, the full body wax if you are having one, and face bleach if it is part of your routine. A week is the sweet spot: long enough for anything that surfaces to settle, close enough that you are still glowing.
Two to three days out
Brows and any facial threading. The shape is fresh, and the brief pinkness has completely gone by the day. Not the morning of, and not the week before either.
The day before
Nothing new. No first-time treatments, no experiments, no "one more facial just in case". Sleep, water, and leave your skin alone.
Wedding on a Saturday or Sunday?
We are closed Sunday and open Monday to Saturday, 9:00am to 6:00pm. Put your final appointments on the Wednesday or Thursday of that week, which is better timing than the Friday anyway. Saturdays book out first, so give us as much notice as you can.

Ninety minutes, and why it is that long
The Bridal Facial is $60 and runs 90 minutes, half an hour longer than anything else we do. The extra time is not padding. It goes into a proper consultation at the start, unhurried extraction where your skin needs it, a longer massage, and a mask that gets the time it was designed for rather than being rushed off.
Book it as your final facial, about a week before the wedding. Use the earlier appointments in the countdown to work on whatever your skin actually needs, which may well be a different treatment. There is no rule that every facial in the run-up has to be the bridal one.
If a different facial suits you better, we will say so
Congestion and blackheads respond to the hydra facial at $100 rather than to a longer relaxing one. Tan and uneven tone respond to the D-Tan at $50. The advice costs you nothing and occasionally saves you money. The full facial menu lists all ten.
Bridal questions, answered
How far ahead should I start booking?
Three months, if you can. Skin renews on roughly a four-week cycle, so three facials spaced a month apart is the difference between one nice treatment and skin that has actually changed.
It also leaves room to find out how your skin responds to something before the week that matters. If you have less time than that, come anyway and we'll work backwards from the date.
How much is a bridal facial?
The Bridal Facial is $60 and runs 90 minutes, the longest treatment on our menu. If your main concern is congestion rather than glow, the 60-minute hydra facial at $100 may suit you better, and we'll say so rather than take the booking.
Do you do wedding day hair and makeup?
No. We're a skin and hair-removal salon: facials, threading, waxing, henna hair colour and face bleach.
For the morning itself you'll want a makeup artist and a hair stylist. What we do is get your skin and your brows right in the months beforehand, which is the part your makeup artist will thank you for.
Should I have a facial the day before?
No. Book the final facial about a week out. Clearing congestion can bring something to the surface that was already forming underneath, and it usually appears in the following day or two.
A week gives that time to settle and still leaves you glowing on the day. The day before is for nothing new at all.
When should I get my eyebrows threaded?
Two to three days before. Threading leaves the area slightly pink for twenty minutes or so, and the shape looks its best once the skin has completely settled.
Don't leave it to the morning of, and don't change your brow shape in the last month. Decide the shape about four weeks out and simply maintain it.
When should I have a full body wax?
About a week before, and stop shaving two weeks before that. Waxing needs roughly 5mm of growth to grip, so the last shave should be a fortnight before the appointment.
A week between the wax and the day means any redness has gone and you're past the 24 hours of no heat, no sun and no swimming.
What if I break out after a facial?
It happens occasionally, usually after a first facial or on skin that was congested to begin with, and it settles within a few days.
That's exactly why the countdown puts your first facial three months out and your last one a week out rather than the day before. Don't pick at it, and tell us at the next appointment so we can adjust what we use.
Can my bridesmaids and family book too?
Yes. Book them as separate appointments back to back rather than as one booking. If you can't find suitable times next to each other online, ring us on 0424 326 982 and we'll arrange it, which is easier by phone than through the booking form.
Saturdays fill first, so give us as much notice as you can.
I've never had a facial. Is my wedding a good time to start?
It's a good reason to start, but not in the final fortnight. Book a first facial at least six weeks out so we both learn how your skin responds while there's still time to change course.
Trying a treatment for the first time in the week of your wedding is the one thing we'd advise against.
Do you do mehndi or henna body art?
No. The henna we do is pure hair henna, a conditioning colour for the hair at $35, with no PPD or metallic salts. Mehndi and body art are a different craft and we don't offer them.
Can I book several treatments in one visit?
Yes, and in the run-up to a wedding it saves a lot of trips. Select everything you want when booking and we hold one longer slot so the treatments run back to back.
One sensible exception: keep face bleach and facial threading on the same patch of skin a couple of days apart, because both together is more irritation than most skin wants.
Are you open Sundays for a wedding weekend?
No, we're closed Sunday. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 9:00am to 6:00pm. For a Saturday or Sunday wedding, book the final appointments for the Wednesday or Thursday of that week, which is better timing anyway.
